Chicago is a competitive medical aesthetics market, and as competition increases, many medspa owners assume the answer to slower growth is simple: spend more money on marketing.
Increase the ad budget. Launch another promotion. Generate more leads.
But at DermAesthetic Consulting Group (DAC), we teach our clients to look inside the business before spending another dollar trying to bring more people into it.
Because sometimes you don’t need more leads.
You need to generate more revenue from the opportunities you already have.
Start With the Leads You're Already Paying For
Before increasing your Chicago medspa’s advertising budget, look at what is happening to your current leads.
How quickly is your team responding? How many leads are actually contacted? How many book a consultation? How many show up? How many convert into paying patients?
If you’re generating 100 leads but only converting 20, adding another 100 leads doesn’t fix the real problem.
It simply makes the problem more expensive.
At DAC, we teach teams that marketing creates the opportunity. Your team has to convert it.
Improving speed-to-lead, phone skills, follow-up, objection handling, and consultation booking can generate significant additional revenue without increasing your marketing budget.
Increase Consultation Conversion
Getting a patient into the consultation room is only half the battle.
What happens next?
Too often, providers become order takers. A patient comes in asking for Botox, filler, or a laser treatment, and the provider focuses entirely on that individual service.
At DAC, we teach providers to consult, not take orders.
Ask better questions. Understand what bothers the patient. Learn what results they want to achieve. Discuss their timeline, priorities, and previous treatments.
Then use your expertise to build a comprehensive treatment plan.
Great sales in aesthetics is education. When patients understand what it will actually take to achieve their desired outcome, they can make educated decisions about their care.
That creates better patient outcomes while increasing treatment plan value, average patient spend, and patient lifetime value.
Rebook Before the Patient Leaves
One of the simplest ways to increase revenue is also one of the most frequently missed.
Rebook the patient.
If someone needs their next neuromodulator appointment in three or four months, why are you waiting for them to remember to call?
If they’re completing a series of treatments, get the next appointment scheduled.
Your team should be consistently setting expectations around what comes next.
Rebooking creates predictable future revenue, improves retention, and reduces your dependence on constantly acquiring new patients.
Look Inside Your Existing Database
Your database is one of the most valuable assets in your business.
How many patients haven’t visited in six months? Nine months? A year?
How many received a treatment plan but never completed it? How many purchased one service and never returned? How many are due for another treatment right now?
At DAC, we encourage practices to consistently work their database through reactivation campaigns, personalized follow-up, treatment reminders, and strategic outreach.
These are people who already know your practice.
You don’t have to pay Meta or Google to introduce you again.
Increase Revenue Per Hour
Revenue isn’t just about how much a provider produces in a month. You also need to understand how efficiently they are producing it.
At DAC, revenue per hour is one of the numbers we pay close attention to.
A provider generating $30,000 while working 80 clinical hours is performing very differently from someone generating the same $30,000 in 40 hours.
Look at scheduling efficiency, treatment mix, consultation conversion, downtime, and how providers are utilizing their available hours.
Before adding more provider days or hiring another injector, make sure you’re maximizing the productivity of the schedule you already have.
Build Memberships and Long-Term Treatment Plans
If every patient interaction is transactional, your team has to keep reselling the relationship.
Instead, create opportunities for patients to stay connected to the practice.
Memberships, packages, skincare plans, and comprehensive 6- to 12-month treatment plans can create predictable revenue while improving patient retention.
Your providers should be helping patients understand what comes next, not simply checking them out after today’s treatment.
The goal is to build a patient journey, not a series of unrelated appointments.
Know Where Your Revenue Is Leaking
At DAC, we believe if you cannot measure it, you cannot manage it.
Track your lead conversion, consultation conversion, average patient spend, revenue per hour, rebooking, retention, membership conversion, and treatment plan value.
Your numbers will tell you where the opportunity is.
For many Chicago medspas, the fastest path to additional revenue isn’t increasing ad spend.
It’s fixing the revenue leakage already happening inside the business.
Convert more of the leads you’re already paying for. Create stronger consultations. Rebook your patients. Work your database. Increase provider productivity. Build long-term patient relationships.
Before you spend more to get more, make sure you’re maximizing what you already have.
That’s how you create profitable, sustainable growth.
